At 糖心Vlog, all students have a faculty advisor. Your advisor is listed in the self-service portal. with your 糖心Vlog email and password, click 鈥淪tudent Planning,鈥� click 鈥淕o to plan and schedule,鈥� and select the 鈥淎dvising鈥� tab at the top of the page.
What kind of assistance do they offer?
Your academic advisor can assist you in exploring a major/minor, selecting and registering for courses, exploring internships and study abroad possibilities, and opportunities for involvement outside of the classroom. They can offer professional/vocational advice and function as a reference and/or write letters of recommendation. All students must meet with their advisors each semester in order to be eligible for class registration.
Will I have the same advisor throughout my four years?
If you declare your major in the same department as your first advisor, you may stay with the same advisor. If you declare a major in a different department, you will be assigned a new advisor by the chair of your major department.
What if my advisor is not on campus this semester?
Your advisor or the chair of the department should communicate with you regarding your acting advisor for the semester/year. This information will also be posted in self-service. How do I get in touch with my advisor or make an appointment?
Email is usually the best way to contact your faculty advisor. If you are aware of their office hours, that can also be a good time for quick questions, obtaining signatures, etc.
